It was established and dedicated to the people of the region with a special focus to serve the poor, marginalized and the vulnerable on 26th June 1995 by Shri.Rishang Keishing the then Chief Minister of Manipur in the presence of Rt.Rev.Joseph Mittathany DD the Archbishop of Imphal, Manipur and the inspiration behind the upcoming of the institute. Today it has grown to the status of a premier Health institute of the State with 8 full-fledged departments : . including
Medicine(including Interventional Cardiology),
Surgery,(including GI and Thoracic Surgery),Gynaecology, Paediatrics,
Orthopaedics (including Physiotherapy), E N T, Ophthalmology & Radiology. It is owned and managed by the Archdiocese of Imphal, Manipur and a Group of Dedicated religious sisters belonging to the Sacred Heart Congregation manage the daily internal administration. CMC has been built by the Mission Archdiocese of Imphal to continue the healing mission of
Jesus. Irrespective of caste or creed CMC reaches out to the sick and the suffering in partnering the healing ministry of Jesus. CMC is the only institute that carries out regular Arthroscopic Surgeries including very advanced procedures like Anterior Cruciate Ligament Repair(ACLR) and Posterior Cruciate Ligament Repair(PCLR). CMC entered the Medical History of Manipur by carrying out the first ACLR on(date) and PCLR on(dte) by the Department of Orthopaedics headed by

| The First Interventional Cardiology Unit in the State at CMC

CMC dedicated the first Interventional Cardiology unit to the people of the Region on 5th January 2007 by his Excellency Shri. SS Sidhu, the Governor of Manipur in the presence of Shri.Rishang Keishing, Hon’ble Member of Parliament(RS), and Most.Rev.Joseph Mittathany DD Archbishop emeritus of Imphal invoked God’s blessings upon the department. Angiogram, Angioplasty, Pace-maker Implantations and other cardiac interventional facilities at CMC on a regular basis at very nominal rates reducing the inconveniences of the cardiac patients of Travel and Treatment costs.
